Summer Blues
[I stand on the beach,
surveying the ocean…
The glistening shades of blue,
changing as the light from the sun hits it.
I sit and play in the sand,
my toes interweaving with the
tiny granules of life within…
Wondering when next,
I could sneak into the ocean
for a quick swim, away from seeing eyes]
It is like I don’t seem to want to learn,
Or seem to want to grow.
Going back to the same pen,
Like I was born a pig first…
Walking through this desert of growth,
having to constantly fight…
…or sometimes succumb to the whispers
that murmur,
“Your God has left you”
Almost (sometimes) forgetting,
the hand, He, dipped into the sea of sin,
to rescue me from drowning.
Pulling me out,
Setting me down,
Proceeding to ‘CPR’ life back into this vessel
And with every chance at given grace,
Every chance of new mercies,
Every beginning of a new page,
It is like I still don’t get it…
[So I stand again on this beach called Life,
Surveying the ocean called sin…
The glistening shades of blue,
changing as the light from the sun hits it…
The lighter colouring of fun
masking the darker colours of depression and death,
I sit and play in the sand,
my toes interweaving with the
tiny granules of life and friendships within…
Wondering when next,
I could sneak into the ocean
for a quick swim,
away from HIS seeing eye]
